  3. Nirvana: Nirvana is the peace of freedom from fixed. It is like heaven of the highest state that one can attain. It is a state of enlightenment and state to get free from everything.
These are the three basic principles of Buddhism also known as the “three marks of existence”.  If one has a belief in these basic principles, then the person is called as Buddhist.

Is Buddhism a Religion?

This can’t be answered as there is not an appropriate answer whether Buddhism is a religion or not? If you ask this question to common people with different thoughts, then you will get three answers. The answers would be “yes” “no” and “might be or kind of”. The three answers are appropriate, so when someone says “yes” Buddhism is a religion then yes, it is because Buddhists have different principles like the path to experience thoughts. If someone says “no” then according to him Buddhism is not a religion because many people believe that it is peace of mind, it is like a meditation and we can’t say they are wrong. If people cannot decide whether it is a religion or not, then they have not experienced about it or read about it. These are the people that need to be educated with proper information about Buddhism for beginners.

So, we can’t answer it whether Buddhism is a religion or not. It is just the way you think, and it is your choice. Whatever you think of Buddhism a religion or not, it is completely your choice and you are free to think about it the same way until you get proper information about Buddhism for beginners. In the end, it’s the preaching that matters not the label of the preaching. Everything depends on your faith and belief. There is no definition of religion. Hence, you can’t put anything in this category without complete information.
